What Should
It Cost?

Website quotes in India range from ₹5,000 to ₹5,00,000 for what sounds like the same brief. The difference is real, but almost nobody explains it. Answer six questions and see where your project actually sits — and why.

01 — The Estimator

Build Your
Estimate.

Updates as you change anything. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to email yourself the result.

Count distinct page templates, not every product or blog post. A shop with 200 products is still roughly 6 templates.

Template means a bought theme with your colours and logo. Semi-custom reworks the layout. Fully custom is designed from a blank canvas for your brand.

This is the single most underestimated cost driver. Writing copy and sourcing images is real work, and it is usually the reason projects run late.

02 — The Tiers

What Each
Band Buys.

Typical Indian market ranges for a completed build, excluding domain, hosting and ongoing maintenance.

Indian website cost tiers and what each includes
Type Typical range What you should get
Landing page₹9,000 – ₹25,000One focused page built to convert, mobile-first, form wired up, basic analytics
Business site₹25,000 – ₹75,0005–8 pages, custom or semi-custom design, on-page SEO, contact forms, handover
E-commerce₹45,000 – ₹2,50,000Catalogue, cart, payment gateway, order flow, inventory basics, scaling with product count
Web app / portal₹75,000 – ₹5,00,000+User accounts, dashboards, custom business logic, database design, ongoing development

Below roughly ₹10,000 for a multi-page business site, something is being skipped — usually the design, the SEO, the testing, or the support after launch. The full cost guide breaks down why.

A single landing page typically starts around ₹9,000–15,000. A standard 5–8 page business website usually lands between ₹25,000 and ₹60,000 depending on whether the design is templated or custom. E-commerce generally starts near ₹45,000 and rises sharply with product count. Web apps with logins and custom logic start around ₹75,000 and go well past ₹3,00,000.
Three factors move price most. Design approach: a bought theme lightly customised costs a fraction of a custom design. Platform: custom-coded costs more to build than a CMS but performs better and avoids lock-in. Content: if you cannot supply copy and images, someone has to create them, which commonly adds 20–40% to the project.
Beyond the build: a domain at roughly ₹1,200/year, hosting from ₹3,000–15,000/year depending on quality, and maintenance around ₹12,000/year if you want updates, backups and security handled. Copywriting, stock photography and ongoing SEO are also frequently quoted separately — always ask what is excluded, not just what is included.
Below roughly ₹10,000 for a multi-page business site, something is being skipped — usually a generic theme with no customisation, no on-page SEO, no analytics, no mobile testing and no post-launch support. The site exists but does not perform, and the eventual rebuild costs more than doing it properly once.
